My name is Momi Zisquit. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Israel (license number: 27-139193), specializing in therapy for adults, adolescents, children, and parents. In my private practice, I integrate various therapeutic approaches, primarily psycho-dynamic, in addition to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness tools, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

I believe the essence of therapy is creating a safe and supportive space where you can express yourself freely while we explore difficulties, life events, and relationships. In our therapeutic process, I will assist you in looking inward to discover new ways to face challenges, create change, and experience satisfaction and purpose in your life.

Over the years, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment and relational difficulties, and personal or family crises. I see therapy as a genuine partnership, where we work together to pave the way for a more balanced and fulfilling life. In my view, every individual has the potential to grow and change.

Lectures

I deliver lectures on the use of technology in therapeutic interventions in an engaging manner, exploring the role of artificial intelligence in therapeutic practice and its impact on modern mental health. Additionally, I delve into the psychological effects of technology on our inner lives in an ever-evolving world. These lectures are designed to provide a fresh perspective on the integration of the digital world with our emotional and psychological needs, examining how technology can support mental health, in general, and interpersonal relationships, in particular.

Post traumatic stress disorder:
Diagnosis and Evaluation

What is PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) or Shell Shock, and How Does It Develop?

Over the years, the State of Israel and its security forces have had to deal with many security challenges - wars, operations, and terrorist attacks. Soldiers and men in their security service are sometimes exposed to real danger to their lives, physical injuries, severe images of the wounded, loss of friends, and significant damage to the environment, and these effects may leave a mark. Battle experiences or difficult operational events leave powerful and moving memories, which are sometimes accompanied by feelings of anxiety, fear, and recurring experiences such as nightmares or sensitivity to smells and sounds. Most victims understand the harm only after the fighting is over and they try to return to normal.

How to submit a recognition claim to the Rehabilitation Department?

Sometimes it can take a long time to realize you are coping with PTSD. Therefore, it is essential that the diagnostic and disability recognition process is swift and takes place in a safe and comfortable environment. The purpose of the diagnosis process is to assess whether there is a medical disability and determine whether it was caused or worsened due to your military service. It’s necessary to bring relevant medical documents for the diagnosis, which will take place at my private psychology clinic and lasts approximately 3.5 hours. The session includes filling out questionnaires and a semi-structured clinical interview to diagnose PTSD according to DSM-5 criteria (CAPS-5). Afterward, I provide a report summarizing the diagnosis findings and recommendations for further treatment and rehabilitation, which is sent directly to you. This report serves as a professional psychological evaluation and diagnosis for the disability recognition process with the Rehabilitation Department of the Ministry of Defense.

The diagnosis process can be conducted in either Hebrew or English.

Areas of therapy

תחומי טיפול
Personal hardships and crises
Treatment and processing of traumatic experiences
Depression

Therapy following personal hardships such as loss, separation, or significant life changes helps people cope with the emotional and psychological processes that follow these experiences. During this time, feelings of confusion, sadness, or helplessness may emerge, and the future may seem uncertain. In therapy, the goal is to create a supportive environment where the client can express their emotions and pain. Additionally, therapy enables planning future steps and rebuilding a sense of capability and stability. This process can lead to healing and personal growth, allowing the client to reconnect with themselves and the world around them.

In therapy, the processing of traumatic experiences focuses on understanding the deep effects that difficult events have on our minds and lives. Traumatic experiences, such as injuries, loss, or dangerous situations, can leave a significant mark and often lead to symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks, or feelings of disconnection. The collaborative work enables you to process painful feelings, recognize the impacts of trauma on your life, and develop coping strategies that empower you with a sense of strength and confidence. The goal is not only to process the pain but also to construct a healthier and more fulfilling way of living your life going forward.

Depression is one of the most burdensome conditions for the human mind. It disrupts every area of life and significantly impacts functioning. Often, there’s a feeling of being lost in darkness, without hope of seeing the light again. Treatment for depression aims to identify and understand the roots of its development in each person, while also focusing on negative thought patterns such as pessimism, lack of self-worth, and hopelessness, with the goal of replacing them with more positive and healthy thinking patterns.

Difficulty in Relationships

In therapy focused on interpersonal relationship challenges, we will explore the dynamics behind our connections with others and how they affect our lives. Relationships are a central and often challenging aspect of life, and we may frequently encounter difficulties such as communication problems, conflicts, or painful emotions that can disrupt our close connections. Throughout the process in therapy, we will examine recurring patterns, discover what holds you back from connecting, and understand your needs and fears in interactions with others. In this way, you can develop the skills that help to create and maintain healthier, more fulfilling relationships, and establish a positive relationship with yourself and those around you.

Anxiety

Anxiety can manifest in various ways and at different levels of intensity: sudden and intense fear, recurrent thoughts, a feeling of loss of control, and physical symptoms such as difficulty breathing, chest pains, sweating, and nausea. It causes significant distress and often indicates internal conflicts that are difficult to express in words. In therapy, we can start to find words for your experiences by sharing your difficulties with another person and clarifying what it is exactly that is troubling you. This way, little by little, we can ease the burdensome feelings. Treatment of anxiety focuses on finding ways to reduce intrusive thoughts, fears, and physical tension, allowing you to feel more relaxed in your daily life. The goal is to help you feel more in control and confident, so that your anxiety does not hold you back any longer. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore your concerns and develop healthier ways to cope with challenges.
